Submillimeter Particle Detection System
SPaDeS
Sensor
Other than existing products that detect larger space fragments in the market, SPaDes Sensor has the capability of measuring the electric field between the frequency range of 0.1 – 20 MHz which the detection of space debris reached sub-mm scale with precision. It requires low power consumption with only 0.5W and both hardware and software can be configured for different orbits.
-
Provide partners with sensors to put on their satellites as well as apply for funding for rideshare.
-
Detects small electric field changes due to debris particle impacts with satellite - current prototype is targeting ~5 µm for CubeSat application
-
Collect real time sub-mm particle data in a range of orbits (LEO, MEO, and GEO).
-
Low power consumption and affordable build cost.
Features
In order to build up the entire detection system that covers different orbits, SPaDes looks forward to creating mutually beneficial rideshare partnerships. Partners that carry SPaDes Sensors will be provided with prioritised tracking of their satellites and free of charge on subscriptions.

Predictive
4D Model
A series of sub-mm particles impact prediction, including probabilities and average number of particle impacts per day per orbit, will be clearly presented in great visualisation. With the help of our software and data, companies can shift their space objects to a less impacts orbit to avoid loss.

Features
Since 1957, there has been over 16,000 man-made space objects launched in the pursuit of military missions, civil convenience, commercial purpose, and etc. Numerous non-operational space vehicles are outdated after several years of services, however, they remained orbiting the Earth while new-built ones are continuously sent up since the building cost of satellites is reduced. Collisions and explosions are inevitable in space, which fragments, also known as space debris, are created, causing a higher chance of collision.
